Single EU Patent

European Union (EU) officials agreed in June 2012 to introduce a single EU patent. This new system, targeted for 2014, will cut the expense of obtaining multiple patents in Europe.

New Patent Reform Act

Congress recently overhauled the Patent Laws by passing the Leahy-Smith America Invents Act ("AIA"). The greatest change under the AIA starts in March 2013.
